Look at the back of the satellite receiver. Look for the RCA "Audio Out" ports. These are two round red-and-white holes. Alternatively, look for the "HDMI Out" port. Only one of these ports need to be used to transfer the audio. The HDMI audio signal is higher quality. - 2). Connect RCA audio cables to the RCA "Audio Out" ports on the receiver. Red goes with red and white with white. Alternatively, plug the HDMI cable into the "HDMI Out" port.
- 3). Locate the RCA "Audio In" ports on the back of the surround-sound receiver. These are two round red-and-white holes. Alternatively, look for the "HDMI In" port.
- 4). Plug in the RCA cables or HDMI cable into the appropriate port on the surround-sound receiver.
- 5). Turn on the satellite receiver, TV and surround-sound receiver. Test the connection.
