- 1). Carefully review your local cable access station's advertising regulations. Note any restrictions the station places on content, such as level of appropriateness and whether they allow for-profit advertising. Write down the purpose of your advertisement and your script, if they require it. Designate how long your commercial will run and note how soon before the air date the station needs the content to be submitted.
- 2). Shoot your commercial. Keep the message short and to the point, but be sure to include a hook or gimmick that will make your message stand out. Compensate any outside actors in some way, whether it's with money or food.
- 3). Transfer your video to the medium your station requires, be it DVD, VHS, Betamax or digital video file. Submit the commercial no later than the deadline the station designates, along with any required fees for purchasing the advertising space.
