- 1). Open the iTunes music software.
- 2). Plug the wide and thin end of the iPhone's included USB cable into the bottom of the iPhone. The side of the cable marked with a gray rectangle should be facing in the same direction as the iPhone's screen.
- 3). Insert the opposite end of the cable into any USB port on your computer.
- 4). Click the iPhone's icon in the left column of iTunes. A summary of the phone's settings will appear in the main window of iTunes.
- 5). Select each of the tabs at the top of the window to set your syncing options for the corresponding media available in your iTunes library. For example, press "Music" to set how your iTunes music is transferred to the phone, and press "Videos" to choose your video transfer options.
- 6). Push "Apply" in the bottom right corner of the window. The iTunes software will now transfer its contents onto the iPhone according to the parameters you set in Step 5. From now on, the syncing process will automatically commence every time you connect the device to your computer.
