How to Activate an iPhone 3.1.2 iTunes SIM Card Inserted Without T-Mobile
- 1). Unfold the paperclip, then slide one tip into the small hole on the top of the iPhone 3GS. Pull the paperclip up to open the SIM card slot.
- 2). Insert the SIM card into the open slot, then push it back into the iPhone. You obtain the SIM card directly from AT&T.
- 3). Install iTunes if it isn't currently installed on the computer. Navigate to iTunes.com, select "Download" and wait for the program to download to your computer. Double-click the downloaded file to load the iTunes software installation wizard. Accept the end-user agreement, then follow the prompts of the installation wizard to completely set up iTunes.
- 4). Insert the provided USB cable into the power port on the bottom of the iPhone. Attach the free end of the cable into a USB port on the computer system. iTunes automatically detects the connected iPhone 3GS and loads onto the screen.
- 5). Check off "Set Up Your iPhone" and allow iTunes to upload all media content currently stored in the program to the phone. You are also asked if you have a current AT&T mobile number. Enter in your phone number and your mobile account data (the username and password used to enter your online mobile account) and submit the information. The data is now printed onto the SIM card, completing the activation.
