How to Do Long & Cute Hairstyles at Home

    • 1). Create a simple up do with a top knot. Brush out all of your hair and then brush it up toward the top of your head, just above the crown. Tie your hair in an elastic band and wrap the ponytail around the elastic to make a bun. Secure the bun with hairpins. You can braid the ponytail before wrapping it around the elastic for a more tamed hairstyle. If you have bangs, feather them across your forehead. You can also leave tendrils of hair at your temples out of the ponytail to frame your face. To keep fly-aways tame, apply a few spritzes of hairspray.

    • 2). Make an adorable twist on a typical french braid. Part your hair to the side up to your crown. Make an even center part down the back of your head. French braid both sections of hair and secure the ends in ribbons or elastics.

    • 3). Fashion your hair into a braided chignon. Gather all of your hair just below the crown of your head. Make sure the front of your hair is brushed back smoothly. Secure the hair in a ponytail with a strong hair elastic band. Braid the length of the ponytail and secure the braid with a hair-colored fine elastic band. Begin wrapping the braid around the elastic band and insert hair pins as you go to keep the braid pressed against your head, rather than forming a bun. Continue wrapping until you reach the end and tuck the elastic underneath the braid and use a hairpin to keep it secure.

    • 4). Create a soft side hairstyle. Make a side part from your forehead to your crown. Brush all your hair to one side and make a loose braid down the length of your hair. Secure the ends with a simple hair elastic band. Add a silk flower behind one ear.

    • 5). Style your hair simply. Make a side or middle part in your hair. Separate two one-inch sections of hair at your forehead and braid these sections. Tie the two pieces together at the ends and then join the ends below the nape of your neck.
