Pioneer 42-inch Plasma TV Specs

    • The Pioneer Kuro plasma TV has a 42-inch diagonal screen size, with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a resolution of 1024 x 768 XGA (eXtended Graphics Array is a high-resolution graphics standard). The tuner is a Dual ATSC (a standard producing digital wide screen 16:9 images up to 1920 --- 1080 pixels in size) and NTSC (analog television tuner). A Cable card is included, enabling users to view and record digital TV on digital video recorders, PCs and TVs without the use of other equipment. The unit is equipped with a V-chip parental control, a room light sensor to adjust the screen brightness and an interactive on-screen TV program guide.

    Video

    • The optimum video mode provides automated adjustment of the picture according to light conditions. Other video features include a smooth film motion mode which eliminates film judder so that it does not look like film, but more real; advanced pure cinema, which helps remove judder depending on the video source, with three settings available; and AV selection memory, giving eight options of optimum, standard, dynamic, movie, pure, sport, game and use, for viewing preferences. The TV has six positions of aspect ratio control including wide, zoom, cinema, full, 4:3 and "Dot by Dot" for PC integration. There are three settings of high, mid and low for color temperature adjustment, 3 digital noise reduction and field noise reduction.

    Connectivity

    • The unit comes with four HDMI ports, three component ports, two composite ports and one s-video port. It has "A" and "B" antenna ports, a USB connection and PC VGA connection. This means that you can connect multiple devices to the TV at the same time, such as games consoles, satellite TV receivers, DVD players or PC hard drives. Output ports include an optical digital audio port, audio port, monitor port, sub-woofer and headphones port, enabling surround sound systems to be attached or users to listen to the TV sound through headphones.

    Sound

    • Sound technology is provided by a 17-watt stereo digital amplifier with TruBass two-way stereo speakers, offering deep rich bass sounds from any speakers or headphones, eliminating the need for large speakers for richer bass. There is also SRS WOW, which improves sound quality for headphone users; FOCUS, which is an effect designed to lift the sound up near to your head, for lower speaker heights; and TruBass surround sound audio.

    Dimensions

    • The dimensions of the unit are 40-15/16 inches wide x 26-3/4 inches tall x 4-1/2 inches deep. The unit weighs 65.9 pounds without the stand and 69.6 pounds with it.
