- 1). Plug your iPod into your primary Mac or PC computer using an iPod USB cable. The primary computer is the one that you have previously used to sync your iPod.
- 2). Open the iTunes program.
- 3). Wait for the iPod icon to appear on the left side of the window and then click on the eject symbol.
- 4). Disconnect your iPod from the computer. The device will now be temporarily unlocked to give you time to reset the password combination.
- 5). Use the click-wheel to navigate to the "Extras" section of the iPod menu.
- 6). Go to the "Screen Lock" section and then choose the "Reset Combination" option to erase the previous password and create a new one.
- 7). Use the click-wheel to enter a new four-digit password and then press the center button on the iPod to save the password.
