- 1). Insert the dock end of the iPod's cable into the iPod, then insert the USB end into the USB port on your PC. When the iPod is successfully connected, it will display a "Do not disconnect" message on the screen.
- 2). Click the "Start" button on your desktop menu, then click "All Programs" and "iTunes" to launch the program.
- 3). Click the name of the iPod beneath the "Devices" tab in iTunes' side window. Click the box next to "Enable disk use" and click the "Apply" button next to the capacity graph at the bottom of the iTunes window.
- 4). Double-click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop, or click the "Windows Explorer" icon on your desktop's task bar. Double-click the "Removable Disk" or "iPod" icon in the My Computer or Windows Explorer window to view the files on your iPod.
- 5). Click the "Eject" button next to the iPod's icon in iTunes to remove the device from your computer.
