- 1). Dampen a cotton rag, wipe the tile clean and allow it to dry. Fold fine sandpaper to accommodate the size of the burn and its surrounding area. Gently sand the burn until it diminishes and you're satisfied with the appearance. Check the burn mark frequently while sanding, using a dry cotton rag to wipe away dust. If the burn mark on the tile is small, you may wish to use a fine nail file to maneuver more easily in the small area.
- 2). Use the damp rag to wash the area clean. Let the tile dry. Apply a small amount of clear nail polish to the area. If the burn is small, clear nail polish provides a small protective layer and shine to the filed area.
- 3). Allow the nail polish to dry. Apply another small layer of nail polish and let it dry. Repeat applying nail polish until the sanded area is even with undamaged areas.
