Hearthstone Class Basics:
The classes in Hearthstone are based on the same classes found in World of Warcraft, so if you are familiar with the popular online role-playing game, you will find similar themes in Hearthstone. There's no one-class-fits-all to be found, with each class having their strengths and weaknesses. The best tactics involve mixing the unique abilities of a class with a deck built with specific strategies in mind.

Hearthstone: Cards of Note
Half the fun of collectible card games is acquiring those rare and powerful cards. And Hearthstone has a lot of cool cards. But I'm not going to go over those here. Instead, I'll point out a few notable neutral minions that are in the basic set of cards.

Hearthstone Druid Deck Strategies
The Druid is the most versatile class in Hearthstone, with the ability to react to what the opponent is doing and device the best strategy to counter it. The Druid is able to do this because of the Choose One cards unique to the class. These cards have multiple abilities, with the player being given the choice of which ability to use when the card is played.
Note: These strategies are aimed at basic sets and the most common rare cards, which means beginners should be able to build these quickly with a little bit of crafting or luck.

Hearthstone Hunter Deck Strategies
The Hunter is one of the best creature-building classes in Hearthstone. With an affinity toward Beast minions, the Hunter can turn a flock of low-cost beasts into a powerful army. The Hunter's Steady Shot power, which deals 2 damage to the enemy hero, also makes this a potent offense-first class.

The Mage combines direct damage spells with crowd control, making them a powerful hero even without minions. Hearthstone Warlock Deck Strategies:
Class Tips: Druid | Hunter | Mage | Paladin | Priest | Rogue | Shaman | Warlock | Warrior
The Warrior is the melee-driven damage dealer in Hearthstone. Their special ability to add 2 armor to the hero also makes this class good at defense. Armor is actually better than health considering you can keep adding it even if you are fully healed. The warrior also has access to special cards with the Enrage effect, which is a power that only comes into effect when the creature has been damaged.

These tips should help you get started building your deck and plotting out strategies to use against your opponent.
The Top Collectible Card Games for the iPad
Basic Tips:
- Practice mode is for unlocking classes. Once unlocked, skip the practice. Playing matches against players leads to more gold, which leads to more arena visits, which ultimately leads to more and better cards. You can always play unranked matches if you are worried about losing rank.
- Buying arena tickets is a better gamble than buying expert packs. It costs 100 gold to buy an expert pack and 150 gold to buy an arena ticket. Even three straight losses in the arena should yield an expert pack and some magic dust or gold, and if you win a few matches, your reward goes up. (Plus, arena mode is a lot more fun than pressing the purchase button.)
- Pay attention to the daily quests. If you don't have much time to play, invest it working on the quest. They provide the quickest way to work up some gold outside of the arena.
Hearthstone Tips: Building a Deck
- Always build with a strategy in mind. Basic strategies include creating a wall of protection by using a lot of creatures with taunt or choosing many low-cost creatures and creatures who summon other creatures combined with cards that have a bonus based on the number of minions on the battlefield.
- Don't overload your deck with expensive cards. It doesn't do you any good to have a lot of powerful minions in your deck if die before you get to play them. A good balance is 18-20 cards in the low-cost to medium-cost range (0-3 mana) and the remaining cards with higher cost (4 mana).
- Cards that allow you to draw other cards can provide you with a better choice of cards earlier in the game and give you options in longer games. You don't want to be stuck with 10 mana in a tough fight but only one card to use.
- Pay attention to minion types. If you have cards that enhance certain types of minions, such as beasts or demons, make sure you pick plenty of those minion types.
- If a card has a special ability, it has a purpose. Learn the purpose and use it appropriately. Take Sap, for example. This card in the Rogue deck takes 2 mana and puts an opposing minion back in the enemy's deck. Doesn't sound like too much since the enemy can just play the card again. But if it can nullify that 5/6 Taunt minion and allow your army to attack the opposing hero, it's well worth the 2 mana.
- Don't forget defense! What are you going to do if your enemy summons a very powerful minion, or builds up a host of 6 minions while you only have one, or if you are down to 10 health? Most decks are best with a few cards devoted to defense, such as Frost Nova, a Mage card that freezes all enemy minions. And sometimes, the best defense is a good offense, such as combining the attack of a 1/1 minion with the Warrior's 1 mana Execute card, which destroys a damaged enemy minion. Not a bad way to take out a 9/5 Core Hound.

Hearthstone Tips: Playing the Game
- Be patient. You've come up with your strategy, built your deck, now it is time to put it into action. Don't play cards key to your strategy just because you have no other cards to play. Save them for when they'll do the most good and only use them outside of your strategy if its a life or death situation.
- Do the math! If you have a 1/2 creature and your opponent has a 2/1 creature, it is far better to target the minion than the opposing player. You are trading your 1 damage for your enemy's 2 damage. And the reverse is true. If you have that 2/1 minion, go for the opposing hero.
- Pay attention to minions that have special powers. Some minions can look weak but provide a strong bonus. A basic example is the raid leader, who may not be powerful on his own, but provides a 1 attack to every other friendly minion. Some creatures also have special powers that kick off in certain events, such as growing more powerful when they take damage. This can turn an ordinary minion into an incredibly strong one very quickly.
- Level every class to 10 by playing against other players. The key to winning is not just coming up with a strategy and building a deck around it. You also need to know your opponent and guess his strategy. And the best way to do that is to be familiar with all of the classes and the most common strategies used in those classes. This will help you anticipate what might be coming down the pipe.

Hearthstone Class Basics and Cards of Note
Hearthstone Class Basics:
The classes in Hearthstone are based on the same classes found in World of Warcraft, so if you are familiar with the popular online role-playing game, you will find similar themes in Hearthstone. There's no one-class-fits-all to be found, with each class having their strengths and weaknesses. The best tactics involve mixing the unique abilities of a class with a deck built with specific strategies in mind.
- Druid. The Druid specializes in Choose One cards, which give a choice of abilities when these cards are played. This gives the Druid the ability to react to their opponent, devising multiple strategies within a single deck. The Druid's special ability gives them 1 armor and 1 attack. Get More Druid Tips.
- Hunter. The Hunter's powers center around laying traps and summoning beasts. A good creature-heavy class, the Hunter's traps make them one of the more devious classes. The Hunter also makes a good offense-first class. The Hunter's special ability does two damage to the opposing hero. Get More Hunter Tips.
- Mage. The Mage has a good mix of offensive spells and crowd control mechanics, allowing him to nullify opposing creatures and burn them down. These spells can be quite powerful when combined with some taunt creatures to keep the Mage safe. The Mage's special ability does one damage to any creature. Get More Mage Tips.
- Paladin. A great defensive class, the Paladin has a variety of ways to heal himself. He also can enhance his creatures by boosting their attack and defense or giving them a divine shield. Not afraid to mix it up, the Paladin can also equip some powerful weapons. The Paladin's special ability summons a 1/1 minion. Get More Paladin Tips.
- Priest. The Priest not only specializes in healing, but can also dish out damage, duplicate enemy cards and even take control of enemy minions. This leads to a variety of different tactics. The Priest's special ability heals 2 damage from any creature. Get More Priest Tips.
- Rogue. The rogue is the consummate damage dealer. If you want to skip all the pleasantries and get right down to killing your opposing hero, this is your class. Among the Rogue's special abilities are cards that do direct damage to enemy minions, even an assassinate cards that destroys them outright, and combo cards, which have an enhanced effect if they aren't the first card played. The Rogue's special ability summons a 1/2 weapon. Get More Rogue Tips.
- Shaman. The Shaman works equally well with offensively-minded creature-heavy strategies and wall of protection defenses. The Shaman's unique Overload cards lets them pay some costs of the card on the next round, which can allow access to more powerful cards earlier in the game. The Shaman's special ability is to summon a random totem. Get More Shaman Tips.
- Warlock. One of the more difficult classes to master, the Warlock specializes in summoning demons. Unfortunately, summoning a demon has its price, which can range from randomly discarding a card from the Warlock's hand or even damaging the Warlock. Even their special ability has its negative, allowing them to draw a card for the price of 2 damage in addition to the 2 mana. Get More Warlock Tips.
- Warrior. Another difficult class to master, the Warrior is all about getting into the battle and dishing out damage himself. He has weapon cards and cards with a unique Enrage ability, which only activate when the minion is damaged. The Warrior's special ability gives him 2 shield. Get More Warrior Tips.

Hearthstone: Cards of Note
Half the fun of collectible card games is acquiring those rare and powerful cards. And Hearthstone has a lot of cool cards. But I'm not going to go over those here. Instead, I'll point out a few notable neutral minions that are in the basic set of cards.
- Acidic Swamp Ooze. This minion has the same cost 3/2 rating as a Bloodfen Raptor, but it includes a battle cry that destroys the opponent's weapon. The only reason to choose the Raptor over the Ooze is because the Raptor is a beast, which can be especially helpful to the Hunter class.
- Novice Engineer. This weak 1/1 minion will also gain you another card. Think its not worth it? The Warlock spends the same amount of mana and receives two damage to draw another card. If you have no other means of drawing extra cards, the Engineer can be a nice addition to a deck.
- Magma Rager. This 5/1 creature can work out great in a deck heavy with Taunt creatures. Easy to kill, if you can protect him, he's cheap damage.
- Raid Leader. One of the easiest strategies to pull off is to build a big army quickly. Pack your deck with creatures that summon other creatures and a couple of Raid Leaders and you can turn a weak army into a stronger one.
- Frostwolf Warlord. Another card that goes well in creature-heavy decks, this Warlord gains power based on the number of friendly minions on the battlefield when he is summoned. If you are patient, you can have a very strong minion with manageable costs.
- Darkscale Healer. Like the Warlord, this healer works best with a full battlefield. But instead of growing in power, the Healer restores 2 health to all friendly creatures, including your hero.
- Gurubashi Berserker. The key to another basic strategy, this 2/7 creature gains 3 attack any time it takes damage. This can create a quite powerful minion if played correctly. The Berserker works great with the Mage class, where inflicting a single point of damage with the Mage's special ability powers it up, or the Priest class, where damage done to the Berserker can be easily healed.

Hearthstone Druid Deck Strategies:
- Spell Buff. A common Druid deck-building strategy is to combine spell damage with minions that enhance spell damage. This deck would include Moonfire, Swipe and Starfire along with the Dalaran Mage and Ogre Magi minions to buff damage. Mark of the Wild is a must-have Druid card, with its ability to buff a minions attack, damage and add Taunt. A few other creatures with Taunt will form a solid defense to protect the Druid.
- Murloc Set. The Murloc set is a low-cost set, which means you will have a lot of low-cost minions to augment your Druid abilities. In addition to the Grimscale Oracle, Murloc Raider, Bluegill Warrior and Murloc Tidehunter, and cards that enhance minions such as the Raid Leader will go well. This is a solid basic set to go heavy with Druid-specific cards and survive long enough to deploy your Ironbark Protectors.
- Wild Growth. Wild Growth can be a great card for getting a leg up on the enemy. It provides an empty Mana Crystal, which means you'll be able to spend more mana than your opponent. Combine with Innervate and the rare card Nourish to replenish mana and create a deck that is heavier in cards that require 4 mana. Don't forget some cheaper cards, and remember to replace cards at the beginning of the game to shoot for Wild Growth.
- Basic Choose One. Power of the Wild, Wrath, Mark of Nature and Druid of the Claw are some of the more common Choose One unique cards that can make up a basic Choose One deck. Combine these with Starfire, Moonfire, Swipe and Dalaran Mages for some spell power and a couple of Novice Engineers to help get more cards into your deck.
Class Tips: Druid | Hunter | Mage | Paladin | Priest | Rogue | Shaman | Warlock | Warrior
Note: These strategies are aimed at basic sets and the most common rare cards, which means beginners should be able to build these quickly with a little bit of crafting or luck.
Hearthstone Hunter Deck Strategies:
- Unleash the Hounds. This card doesn't come with the basic deck, but it is easily obtained through crafting. With this card, you can combine multiple strategies together to form a very strong deck without spending a lot of time chasing down very rare cards. Unleash the Hounds will summon a 1/1 hound with charge for every enemy minion, which means you can build up an army very fast. Combine this with cards like Timber Wolf and Raid Leader to boost the hounds. And for a devastating 1-2 punch, wait until you have enough mana to play both Unleash the Hounds and Frostwolf Warlord, who gains +1/+1 for every minion on the battlefield. This can create an extremely powerful minion for the cost of 6 mana.
- The Starving Buzzard. This one will work well with Unleash the Hounds, but is good with any deck that has a lot of low-cost minions. The Buzzard gives you a new card when you summon a beast. If played right before Unleash the Hounds, you could get 3-5 new cards along with a host of new beasties. It also works with cards that summon an additional minion, so the Board summoned by the Razorfen Hunter counts.
- The Cult Master. This one is like the Starving Buzzard, only working the opposite way. Because Unleash the Hounds summons hounds with Charge, it is a great combination. The Cult Master gives a card whenever one of your other minions dies, so you can summon the hounds to take down a bigger foe, and for each one that dies in the process, you get a hound.
- Assassination. Between Steady Shot, Kill Command, Arcane Shot and Explosive Trap, even the basic set of Hunter cards can do a lot of direct damage. Combine these with Hunter's Mark, Misdirection, Snipe and Multi-Shot to control your opponent's minions and some low rent creatures and minions with Charge to pile on the damage. Remember, when doing a purely offensive build, go for the Hero at every opportunity. The goal is to kill the Hero before they can pull off whatever strategy is up their sleeve.
- Scavenging Hyena. Another rare card that isn't too hard to come by, you can combine this one with the Tundra Rhino and Unleash the Hounds for a nice turnaround. Tundra Rhino gives any of your beasts Charge, which lets them attack on the round they are summoned. Scavenging Hyena gains +2/+1 for each beast that dies. So with Tundra Rhino already on the battlefield, summon Scavenging Hyena and Unleash the Hounds. Target enemy minions with the hounds and let each death power up your Scavenging Hyena. This can create a very powerful minion in no time.
Class Tips: Druid | Hunter | Mage | Paladin | Priest | Rogue | Shaman | Warlock | Warrior
Hearthstone Mage Deck Strategies
The Mage combines direct damage spells with crowd control, making them a powerful hero even without minions. And with some easy-to-acquire rare spells like Mirror Entity, a Secret that copies the first minion summoned by your opponent, you can pull off some neat tricks. The Mage's special ability to do a point of direct damage to any enemy can also be put to great use.
Note: These strategies are aimed at basic sets and the most common rare cards, which means beginners should be able to build these quickly with a little bit of crafting or luck.
Hearthstone Mage Deck Strategies:
- Spell Power. The Mage has plenty of potent damage spells, so the most basic deck combines these cards with minions that enhance spell power like the Dalaran Mage and Ogre Magi. Because this is a deck about dealing damage, minions with a damage-dealing battle cry like the Nightblade or Stormpike Commando are also good cards to have. Shieldbearer is also a good card to have in this deck. This 0/4 minion with Taunt provides good protection from enemy minions and the card is fairly easy to craft or find. The Mana Wyrm rare card also works well with this build. Not too had to obtain, the Mana Wyrm gets +1 attack each time you cast a spell.
- Gurubashi Berserker. Any class can pull off this card, but the Mage is best at it. This 2/7 Berserker gains +3 attack every time it is damaged. Combine this with the Mage's special ability, which does 1 damage for 2 mana, and you have a quick way to buff the berserker. Combine this with Darkscale Healer and Voodoo Doctor to keep the beserker healed and some Taunt minions to keep the enemy minions off him, allowing you to choose your victims.
- Mana Wyrm. The Mana Wyrm is an easy-to-acquire 1/3 minion that gains +1 attack for each spell you cast. Load this deck up with Mirror Image and a few other cheap taunt creatures, minions that add to spell power and a lot of spells.
- Crowd Control. The Mage is great at controlling the battlefield. Frost Nova will cause the enemy army to essentially skip a turn, Mirror Image provides some low-cost Taunt minions, Frostbolt deals damage and freezes, Polymorph transforms an enemy into a 1/1 sheep and the Water Elemental freezes any minion it damages. These cards can stall out an opponent's strategy. Don't use Polymorph too soon in the game. Wait for a powerful enemy and combine it with the Mage's special ability to wipe the minion off the battlefield. Because you can stall out attacks, the Mana Wyrm is a good addition to this strategy.

Hearthstone Paladin Deck Strategies
The Paladin is one of the best defensive classes in Hearthstone. With the ability to buff minions with Divine Shield, which completely negates the next attack, and the special ability to summon 1/1 minions, the Paladin works great as both a pure-defense class or a creature-building class.
Note: These strategies are aimed at basic sets and the most common rare cards, which means beginners should be able to build these quickly with a little bit of crafting or luck.
Hearthstone Paladin Deck Strategies:
- The Murloc Paladin. The Paladin is a great creature-building class. Not only does their special ability summon a 1/1 minion, but they have a lot of great buffs to bestow on their minions. Blessing of Might will turn most minions into a powerhouse for only 1 mana, Hand of Protection will give your minion a Divine Shield, Blessing of Kings gives a whopping +4/+4 and the rare card Blessed Champion will double a minion's attack. Many Murlocs have abilities that boost other Murlocs on the battlefield and don't cost much mana, so you can quickly build a strong army. Among some good rare Murloc cards are the Murloc Tidecaller, which gains +1 attack each time a Murloc is summoned, the Coldight Sear, who will boost Murlocs health by 2, and the Murloc Warleader, who gives other Murlocs +2/+1.
- The Pirate Paladin. Believe it or not, the Paladin can fit right into a gang of pirates. The Paladin has some great weapons, including a 4/2 weapon that restores 2 health to the hero. And pirates are a special minion whose special abilities become active when the hero has a weapon in his hand. The Bloodsail Raider is a key card for this deck. The 2/3 minion becomes a 6/3 minion when the Paladin has the Truesilver Champion weapon summoned. And the Dread Corsair will be free with your Truesilver weapon readied. These pirates are rare cards, but not too difficult to craft.
- The Healer. The Paladin is the best defensive class for a reason: he has great healing ability. Holy Light is a 2 mana card that heals 6 health, Guardian of Kings restores 6 health to your hero when summoned, and the Truesilver Champion weapon restores 2 health each time you use it. Combine these with the Voodoo Doctor, who restores 2 health, and the Darkscale Healer, who restores 2 health to all friendly characters. If you are lucky, you can find Lay on Hands, which restores 8 health and lets you draw 3 cards. But Lay on Hands is a bit more difficult to obtain, so it will take some playing before you can craft it.

Hearthstone Priest Deck Strategies
If you don't play World of Warcraft, you may confuse the Hearthstone Priest with a class focused mainly on healing. This is partially true, but there is a dark side to the Priest, a shadowy side that focuses as much on damage as on healing. The Priest also employs some neat mind control cards that can turn an enemy's strategy against them.
Note: These strategies are aimed at basic sets and the most common rare cards, which means beginners should be able to build these quickly with a little bit of crafting or luck.
Hearthstone Priest Deck Strategies:
- Cards, Cards, Cards. The Priest is the master of cards. Northshire Cleric will put a card in your hand every time a minion is healed, including when you use your special ability on the minion. Power Word Shield also lets you draw a card, and both Mind Vision and Thoughtsteal will put copies of your opponent's cards into your hand. The more cards you have in your hand, the more options you have to counter what is thrown at you. The Twilight Drake, who gains +1 health for each card in your hand, works great with this strategy.
- Gurubashi Berserker. The Priest is almost as good as the Mage at powering up the Berserker. This minion, which gains +3 attack each time it is damaged, can be kept healed with the Priest's special ability, making it an easy combination to include in most decks. You can give the Berserker a head start with Inner Fire, which will boost the 2/7 minion to a 7/7 minion.
- Lightspawn. Even better than the Gurubashi Berserker, Lightspawn has the same attack as its health. Combine this with Divine Spirit, which doubles a minion's health, and Power Word: Shield, which gives a minion +2 health, and you have a very powerful minion. Lightspawn is a rare card, but it has a lower crafting cost.
- Shadow Priest. The Priest can also go full-offense. This strategy involves trying to burn down your enemy's health before he has a chance to do anything. To really pull this off you'll need a relatively rare card: Shadowform. This turns the Priest's 2 point heal ability into a 2 point damage spell. And if you cast it a second time, it turns into a 3 point damage ability. Combine with Mind Blast, which does 5 damage to the enemy hero, Shadow Word: Pain and Shadow Word: Death, which can take care of minions, Holy Nova for clearing out a lot of smaller creatures and Holy Smite for quick damage. Like any spell-heavy build, getting minions that boost spell power like the Ogre Magi and Dalaran Mage combines well into this deck.
Class Tips: Druid | Hunter | Mage | Paladin | Priest | Rogue | Shaman | Warlock | Warrior
Hearthstone Shaman Deck Strategies
The Hearthstone Rogue is a weapon-wielding damage-dealing class that excels at offensive builds. The Rogue has a special ability to summon a weapon and access to unique Combo cards, which provide a boosted effect if they aren't the first card played that turn.
Note: These strategies are aimed at basic sets and the most common rare cards, which means beginners should be able to build these quickly with a little bit of crafting or luck.
Hearthstone Rogue Deck Strategies
- Assassinate. This basic build relies on the Rogue dishing out more damage in a shorter amount of time than the opposing hero. Key cards include Sinister Strike, Deadly Poison, Assassin's Blade and Shiv while Backstab, Assassinate and Sap are used to counter enemy mobs. Sap is best used on Taunt mobs so that you can do more damage to the opposing hero. Minion cards should focus on those with Charge or those who boost the attack of your other minions like the Raid Leader.
- Pirate. This tactic is about building a powerful pirate gang to take care of your enemy. The primary strategy revolves around the Bloodsail Raider, which is an easy-to-acquire expert card. The Bloodsail Raider gains the attack equal to your weapon's attack, so the strategy here is to cast Assassin's Blade on one turn, and on the next turn, cast Deady Poison to give your blade even more attack damage and then cast Bloodsail Raider. This combination turns a 2 mana 2/3 minion into a 7/3 minion. Other notable pirates include the Southsea Deckhand and the Southsea Captain.
Class Tips: Druid | Hunter | Mage | Paladin | Priest | Rogue | Shaman | Warlock | Warrior
The Hearthstone Shaman has the ability to summon totems to their aid, and their unique ability to play Overload cards allows them to use powerful effects and minions earlier in the game.
Note: These strategies are aimed at basic sets and the most common rare cards, which means beginners should be able to build these quickly with a little bit of crafting or luck.
Hearthstone Shaman Deck Strategies:
- Minion Army. The Shaman is among the best at creature-based decks. This strategy involved assembling a large army of creatures, so the focus is on creatures that summon other creatures, The Murloc Tidehunter, Razorfen Hunter and Dragonling Mechanic are all great cards for this purpose. Augment these cards with the Raid Leader, Flametongue Totem, Rockbiter Weapon and Bloodlust, which will quickly turn your army of weak creatures into a force that strikes fear into your foe. As with any deck built around summoning a lot of minion, the Frostwolf Warlord is a must-have card as well.
- Windfury. The Shaman is especially good at granting Windfury, which allows a minion to attack twice in a single round. Both the Windfury card and the Windspeaker minion allows you to select a minion to receive the Windfury effect. Combine this at an opportune time with Rockbiter Weapon or Bloodlust, and you can deal a huge amount of damage to the enemy hero in a single turn. Use Ancestral Healing to keep enemy minions off your Windfury fighter, and for crowd control, use Frost Shock and Hex.
Class Tips: Druid | Hunter | Mage | Paladin | Priest | Rogue | Shaman | Warlock | Warrior
The Hearthstone Warlock is adept at cycling cards, which is the process of gaining extra cards as you play the match. This keeps the Warlock's options open and allows them to quickly gain access to key cards.
Note: These strategies are aimed at basic sets and the most common rare cards, which means beginners should be able to build these quickly with a little bit of crafting or luck.
Hearthstone Warlock Deck Strategies:
- Summoner. Warlocks are the only class able to summon demons and demonic effects, but these come with a price, which is usually paid by discarding a card from your hand or taking damage. The Succubus, Flame Imp and Void Terror are all great demons to have in your hand. Demonfire is also a great dual-purpose card, capable of dishing out damage or buffing a demon, and if you can get your hands on a Summoning Portal, you'll be able to get some cheap minions. Augment these cards with Drain Life, Sacrifical Pact, Voodoo Doctor and the Darkscale Healer to regain some of your life. This strategy takes some expert cards, but they aren't too hard to find or craft.
- Lord Jaraxxus. This one doesn't count as a basic deck, but it is worth mentioning that the Warlock has one of the coolest cards in Heartstone. Lord Jaraxxus turns your hero into Lord Jaraxxus, who has 15 maximum health, a special ability of summoning a 6/6 Infernal for 2 mana and a 3/8 weapon equipped. This is a legendary card that will be hard to find and take a long time to craft, but if you fall in love with the Warlock, it is the card you should work towards acquiring.

Note: These strategies are aimed at basic sets and the most common rare cards, which means beginners should be able to build these quickly with a little bit of crafting or luck.
Hearthstone Warrior Deck Strategies:
- Pirate Commander. A very basic strategy achievable once you hit level 10 and gain the Arcanite Reaper is to combine this 5/2 weapon with the Bloodsail Raider, which gains the attack equal to your weapon's attack. Suddenly, this 2/3 pirate has 7 attack, capable of taking down the most powerful foes. For extra fun, use Charge on your newly summoned pirate, which gives him +2 attack and Charge, allowing him to dish out 9 damage immediately. Other helpful pirates to include in the deck are the Southsea Deckhand and the Southsea Captain.
- Power Up. The Warrior has a lot of really cool combinations he can use, and one of the most powerful is the combination of Inner Rage, which deals one damage to a minion and gives it +2 attack, and Rampage, which gives a damaged minion +3/+3. At the cost of 2 mana, you can but one of your minions by +5/+2. This can be really powerful when used on a minion with enrage. This tactic used on the Amani Berserker will turn a 2/3 minion into a 10/5 minion. And if you already have the Warsong Commander summoned, you can spend the 4 mana these three cards cost and summon the Amani Berserker with the Charge ability, so he can dish out that 10 damage immediately.
