- 1). Connect the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to one of the MacBook's USB ports.
- 2). Click the "iPhone" or other device name in the "Devices" list and click the "Summary" tab. Click the check box for "Restore."
- 3). Click "Backup" in the prompt that appears so you can fix your device if you do not like the recovered operating condition for some reason.
- 4). Click "Restore" in the window that appears to recover your apps and other files to the device's hard drive. It will automatically restart with the recovered apps once the process is complete.
