Visit Argentina"s House of Independence in Tucuman
This is the house, belonging to Francisca Bazán y Esteves de Laguna who invited the delegates to use the porperty for their meetings and sessions.
The house is built in the late colonial style with a rather severe exterior facade and interior rooms open to a courtyard, or patio, and gardens.
The newly formed congress moved To Buenos Aires in 1817. The Bazán family heirs sold the property to the Argentine government in 1872, when it became the site of judicial and postal offices.
