The Best Knots for Spiderwire

    Palomar Knot

    • According to Fish SA.com, the palomar knot is one of the strongest knots and one of the easiest to tie. Tie the palomar knot by passing a loop through a square knot and securing it around a hook. Use it with Spiderwire for unparalleled strength when fishing.

    Trilene Knot

    • In addition to braided lines, Spiderwire also makes several types of fluorocarbon fishing lines. According to Bass Pro Shops, fluorcarbon fishing lines are made from a polymer that has almost exactly the same refractive index as water, meaning the lines all but disappear from view while in the water. Bass Pro Shops recommends using the Trilene knot with fluorcarbon lines. The Trilene knot requires passing the line twice through the eye of a hook and wrapping it at least five times around the standing line before passing it through the hook-eye again and cinching it.

    Uni Knot

    • There are instances in fishing when it is necessary to tie two different types of line together-- when making a leader, for instance, or when tying a piece of one of Spiderwire's braided superlines to a piece of monofilament. For these situations, Bass Pro Shops recommends the Uni knot. The Uni knot is relatively simple to tie and similar to the Trilene knot in that it requires wrapping standing line with the free end of the line before cinching.

    Arbor Knot

    • As with all types of fishing lines Spiderwire lines have to attach to your reel some way -- otherwise they would fly right off the spool. The standard knot for attaching line to a reel is the arbor knot. The arbor knot loops around the reel spool, and is secured to the standing line by a square knot that is backed-up by another square knot. When cinched, the whole thing pulls together and tightens around the spool.
