How to Enter a Code on a DirecTV Remote Control
- 1). Determine the brand name of your television. This can normally be found on the front of the television, below the screen.
- 2). Turn the television on.
- 3). Use the TV Codes list (see Resources section) to find the brand name of your television.
- 4). Slide the "Mode" switch on the DirecTV remote to the "TV" position.
- 5). Locate the code for your television. Note that some models have several numbers. Start with the first one, and if it does not work, go back and start with Step 4 and the next code.
- 6). Press and hold the "Mute" and "Select" keys simultaneously until the green light flashes twice.
- 7). Enter the five-digit code you found in Step 3.
- 8). Watch for the green light to flash twice. This will tell you that the code was accepted.

Press the power button on the remote control. Your television should turn off. - 11
Slide the "Mode" switch to the DirecTV position. - 12
Press the "TV Power" button. Your television should turn on. If it does not, go back to Step 4.
