How to Hook Up an iPod to a Gold Wing Motorcycle
- 1). Buy yourself a cassette tape adapter if your Goldwing has a tape deck in it. They cost around $20 and can be found in electronics and big discount retail stores. Insert the tape, which contains a transmitting head rather than tape reels, into the Goldwing's tape deck, and plug the adapter's audio cable into the iPod. Operate the iPod as your normally would.
- 2). Use an FM transmitter. If the Goldwing does not have a tape deck, this is the next best option. Find an empty FM station (one filled with static). Tune the transmitter to that station and plug it into the iPod. Press "Play" on the iPod. The transmitter will create its own broadcast on the specified station using your iPod's audio.
- 3). Wire an FM modulator into the antenna connection on the Goldwing. If you know how to access the radio's inner workings, disconnect the antenna. Connect the FM modulator to the radio where the antenna was connected. Connect the antenna to the modulator in the specified area, and run the modulator's audio cable to the area of the bike where the iPod will be kept. Tune the modulator to an empty FM station, connect it to the iPod and operate the iPod normally.
