How to Install an Amplifier to a Shaker 500

    • 1). Find a location to mount the amplifier and run the wires to the front of the vehicle. You will need to run the power cable to the battery and the RCA cable and remote wire to the Shaker 500. For an easier install use a power cable with an in-line fuse.

    • 2). Remove the trim around the shifter and unscrew the center console lid and pull it out.

    • 3). Unclip the side panels next to the stereo on both sides. Remove the bolts securing the stereo and climate controls.

    • 4). Unplug the AC controls by reaching under the controls from the passenger's side.

    • 5). Pull out the bezel around the stereo and climate controls and unscrew the radio. Slide it out enough to access the back of the deck.

    • 6). Connect the RCA cables to the back of the deck where it says "Audio." Plug the red plug into the red connection and the white plug into the white connection.

    • 7). Connect the remote wire to the "Remote" access on the back of the deck. Loosen the screw on the remote plug on the Shaker 500. Strip about an inch off the end of the remote wire to expose the bare wire beneath the jacket. Slid the bare wire into the remote jack and tighten down the screw.

    • 8). Connect the power cable to the positive post on your car battery.

    • 9). Ground the amplifier by running a ground wire from the amplifiers "ground" to a bolt near the amp. Loosen the bolt enough to wrap the end of the ground wire around it and tighten so the wire doesn't come loose.

    • 10

Connect the RCA cable to the "Audio In" on your amplifier matching red with red and white with white.

    • 11

Slide the other end of the remote wire into the "Remote" slot on the amplifier.

    • 12

Connect the power cable to the amplifiers "Power" input.

    • 13

Connect the speakers you plan running off the amp and re-install the deck.
