How to Use a Desolder Braid

    • 1). Turn the soldering iron on and set it to 430 degrees Celsius.

    • 2). Place the board where desoldering needs to be done on a flat and dry surface.

    • 3). Place the desolder braid on top of the solder flux that you want to remove and press it gently with the tip of the soldering iron. The solder will melt and will be absorbed by the desolder braid. Take the soldering tip and the braid off of the board as soon as you notice that all the solder flux has been absorbed by the braid.

    • 4). Cut off the portion of the braid that has absorbed the solder flux with a cutter, as this part cannot be used for further desoldering.
