- 1). Place the wheel chocks in front of and behind the driver's side front tires and jack up the rear of your vehicle. Place the jack stands under the rear axle and carefully lower the vehicle down onto the jack stands.
- 2). Spin one of the rear wheels and look at the other rear wheel. If they both spin in the same direction, your vehicle is equipped with a limited slip differential.
- 3). If you have a GM vehicle and determined in the last step that it is indeed limited slip, you have a posi. If your vehicle is not a GM, you just have a limited slip.
