How to Find the iPhone Firmware on My Computer From iTunes on Vista

    • 1). Click the Start menu in the bottom left corner of the Windows Vista desktop and select "Computer" from the menu.

    • 2). Click the icon for the "C:\" drive. The contents of your primary hard drive will be displayed. Open the "Users" folder, followed by the folder that shares a name with your Windows account. This folder contains files specific to your Windows Vista user account, including iTunes files and data.

    • 3). Open the "AppData" folder, followed by "Roaming." Open the "Apple Computer" folder, and then the "iTunes" folder.

    • 4). Open the "iPhone Software Updates" folder after downloading the firmware via iTunes. The iPhone's firmware file will be in this folder, and you can identify it by the ".ispw" file extension. This folder will not be present until you have initiated the firmware download.
