How to Make a Hair Flower Corsage
- 1). Cut your tulle until it is approximately 20 inches long and around 14 inches wide. This gives you enough material to work with comfortably without having to worry that you will run out.
- 2). Thread your needle and set it aside. Start at the end of your tulle and twist for approximately one inch.
- 3). Insert the needle into the tulle and use an embroidery chain stitch to secure the thread. An embroidery chain stitch is a stitch that you make by bringing your needle through the fabric and inserting it back in the same spot before pulling the needle through the fabric again at the other end of your stitch and looping the thread around your needle before pulling it through the fabric.
- 4). Use a number of basting stitches until you are approximately two inches from your starting point. The basting stitch is a long sewing stitch that holds two pieces of material together.
- 5). Bunch the tulle you have just sewn by pulling the thread tightly. This creates a center for wrapping the tulle.
- 6). Twist the tulle around the center on a hard flat surface, making a spiral.
- 7). Stitch a chain stitch that connects the base layer and your new twisted layer in the spiral as you add rows, keeping them in place. Continue this until the flower is the size you desire.
- 8). Fasten the flower with a chain stitch, bringing your needle from the back of the flower to the front in the center. Finish off the flower by attaching a pearl or other decoration, and then knot your thread.
- 9). Attach the flower to a hair clip or bobby pin using hot glue or a simple stitch with your needle and thread.
