How to Customize Your Voice Mail Greetings for a Cell Phone

    • 1). Dial your phone's voice mail.

    • 2). Select "Change personal options" or "Edit personal options" from the audio voice mail menu.

    • 3). Select "Record greetings" from the audio "Personal options" menu.

    • 4). Select your desired option from the audio "Record greetings" menu. You might be able to choose, for example, between the following options: "Change greeting," "Create extended absence greeting" or "Change your recorded name."

    • 5). Listen to the automated instructions for the option you have chosen, then record your greeting, extended absence greeting, or full name by speaking clearly into the phone. When you have finished recording your greeting, press the "Pound" (#) key on your phone.

    • 6). Listen to your greeting and, if you are unsatisfied with it, record a new one. Otherwise, save your greeting once you have recorded one you like.

    • 7). Exit your voice mail by pressing the "Pound" (#) key or "End call."
