- 1). Outline the cement slab with two-by-fours around the edges and hammer stakes into the ground directly against the boards to keep them from slipping while you are surfacing the cement.
- 2). Sweep and mop the cement slab completely to remove all dirt, debris and dust. Allow the area to dry.
- 3). Paint acrylic block fill primer onto the cement slab. Have your assistant push the primer into the pores of the cement with a paint roller, directly after you apply it. Wait for the primer to dry according to the manufacturer's directions.
- 4). Mix the self-leveling cement in small batches according to the manufacturer's directions. Pour the cement over the work area. Since the cement is self-leveling, it even out as you pour it.
- 5). Allow the cement to cure for three days before walking on it.
