How to Clean Mold Off a Deck in the Winter
- 1). Put on gloves and a mask to avoid contact with bleach and mold spores. Add bleach or detergent and water to the spray bottle.
- 2). Spray moldy areas thoroughly with the cleaner. Allow to sit for 15 minutes and scrub well. Remove all traces of mold spores.
- 3). Rinse well, using either a hose or bucket of clean water. Make sure all of the soapy residue is gone.
- 4). Dry the deck using large absorbent towels or a wet/dry vac. Excess moisture causes mold growth, so make sure the deck is as dry as possible.
