How to Run a BIOS Update From a USB Drive

    • 1). Navigate to the computer manufacturer or motherboard company's website and find the software/drivers update page to determine whether an update for the BIOS is available.

    • 2). Download the BIOS update file and save it to a folder on your computer. The easiest place to place the file is on the desktop.

    • 3). Copy the file from the desktop to your USB drive. To do so, right-click on the file and select "Copy" from the context menu.

    • 4). Navigate to the "Start" menu and select "Computer." Double-click on the drive letter of your USB drive.

    • 5). Paste the file onto the USB drive by right-clicking on the file and selecting "Paste" from the pop-up menu.

    • 6). Run the file on the computer that needs to have the BIOS updated by double-clicking on the file from the USB drive to start the updating process.
