Making a Baby Isaac

• Gather an empty toilet paper roll for each child who will be making the craft. Then cut a circle out of construction paper. Cut two arms for every toilet paper roll. Have preschoolers glue a piece of construction paper onto the toilet paper roll. Preschoolers can draw a baby face on the circle and then glue it to one end of the toilet paper roll. Then let them draw a baby body on the toilet paper roll. Glue the arms to either side of the toilet paper roll to complete the baby Isaac.
  
  

Counting the Stars

• Give each preschooler a piece of black construction paper and have them put star stickers all over the piece of paper. You could also let them glue glitter on the construction paper to represent stars that are farther away. Help each child count the stars that are on her piece of construction paper. Talk about how the descendents of Abraham out-number all the stars used by everyone in the classroom.
  
  

Pitching a Tent

• Abraham and Sarah were living in a tent when the Lord and two angels came to visit them to tell them that Sarah would have a son. Give each preschooler a square piece of cardboard and four straws. Show them how to stick each straw into a piece of clay and stick the clay onto the cardboard. Then give each preschooler a piece of paper towel that they can drape over the straws to form a tent. Let them use the remaining clay (or play dough) to create figures representing Abraham, Sarah, the Lord and the two angels.
  
  

Framing the Family

• Give each child a picture frame made out of craft foam. Let the children decorate the frame with stars. On the inside of the frame, have them draw pictures of Abraham, Sarah and Isaac with non-toxic markers. Talk about how the stars represent all of their descendents. You can also talk about what Abraham's family portrait would look like. Cut pieces of yarn and glue them to the back of the frames in loops to act as hangers.
