- Cut heavy white card stock sheets into 4- by 6-inch pieces to make blank postcards. Purchase Christmas themed stamps of a decorated tree, ornaments, candy cane, stars and other holiday themes at a craft store or stamp sites on the Internet. Also purchase stamps with words such as "Postcard," "Merry Christmas," "December 25," "Happy Holidays," or "Joy to the World." Decorate one side of the blank postcard with stamped Christmas images in different ink colors. Stamp the other side of the postcard with a "Postcard" stamp centered at the top. Write a personal holiday greeting on the left half of this side and the name and address of the recipient on the right half.
- Create pretty postcards on heavy scrapbook paper cut into 4- by 6-inch pieces. Choose pastel, solid-colored paper with a white underside. Stamp the colored side with different images of friendship, such as a tea pot and tea cup, a variety of flowers, vintage or Victorian images. Stamp "Postcard" on the white side to write the recipient's name and address and send a message of "hello".
- Purchase heavy scrapbook paper printed of images related to a party or event to make invitation postcards. The underside should be white. Purchase stamps with the words "You are invited," "Come to a party", or one stamp with "For", "Date", "Time", "Place" and "RSVP to fit into a 4- by 4-inch space; fill in the party details by hand. Use bold colored ink to stamp on the white side of the postcard on the left side, leaving room on the right side to write the guest's name and address.
- Purchase dark colored heavy scrapbook paper with a white underside. Cut the sheets into postcard sizes such as 4- by 6-inches or 5- by 7-inches. Purchase stamps with the words "Thank You" in English and a combination of foreign languages. Apply embossing ink on the stamps and stamp the dark side of the postcard randomly. Sprinkle embossing powders in metallic colors over the stamped words, remove the excess and dry with a heat gun (not a hair dryer) to create raised words. On the white side of the card, write a short thank you message on the left side and address the card on the right side.
