How to Make Origami Gift Box
- 1). Lay your paper flat with any design facing downwards. Fold your paper in half, and in half again. Unfold. Fold the four corners of the paper in to the center, using the previous fold marks as a guide. Fold the right edge over onto the center line and repeat for the left edge, so that they meet in the middle. Fold the top edge down to the center line, and bring the bottom edge up to the center line to meet in the middle. Crease.
- 2). Undo all folds until you are left with your paper flat in front of you in a diamond shape. Fold the left and right points of your diamond back in to the center. Using the center of the paper as a guide, note that you have two triangle shapes folded onto the top of your paper.
- 3). At the top two corners of these triangles, crease the paper up and in so that the top point of your paper extends vertically. Ensure that an even square side is left facing you, with the corners (of what will be one side of your box) pressed securely in. Fold the vertical paper over so that there is a fold at the same height as the sides. Fold the paper where it meets the bottom of the box, so that it extends into a triangular point along the bottom of your box.
- 4). Repeat for the opposite, remaining, point; the designed, or colored, side of your paper should now be completely visible and your box is complete. Make another box to create a lid.
