Traditional

• Many florists create a traditional floral vase bow, which is a style you can create at home in just a few steps. Begin by folding the ribbon onto itself, creating the first loop of the bow. Leave a tail of ribbon in the desired length. Make more loops of fabric that increase in size, while always pinching the loops in place in the center between your fingers. When the bow is full, tie it in the center with a 26-gauge craft wire. Open the bow, and fan the loops so they create a plush burst of ribbon. Cut the other end of the ribbon into the appropriate tail length, and tie the bow around the vase.
  
  

Pom-Pom

• Begin by folding a ribbon into a 4-inch loop, then wind the rest of the ribbon around that loop about 12 to 15 times. Flatten the pile of ribbon, creasing the top and bottom of the loops to keep them in place. Use a craft wire or another snip of ribbon to tie the folded ribbon in the center. Hold the still-folded ribbon in one hand. With the other hand, pull the innermost loop out from the center and move it toward the right, giving the loop a half-twist toward you. Repeat this step with the next loop, but this time twisting it away from you. Continue this alternating process on all the loops of both sides of the ribbon to create the poofy pom-pom bow.
  
  

Flower

• Create a flower-inspired bow to complement what's in your vase. Follow the first few steps of the pom-pom bow to fold the ribbon in flattened loops. Tie the ribbon together in the center. Use scissors to snip the outer edges of the folded ribbon into a wavy or pointed shape. This will turn each ribbon piece into a petal. Fluff the bow by bringing out these petals and moving them in a circle around the center.
  
  

Tulle

• You can use other materials, along with ribbon, to create beautiful flower vase bows, including tulle. This easy-to-work-with, netted fabric comes in a variety of colors, so choose one that will complement the flower arrangement. Cut the tulle so it's three times wider than your desired bow. Fold the material so its two ends slightly overlap in the middle. Gather the tulle in the middle, and secure it in place with craft wire. Fluff out its sides to complete the bow.
