Removing Sediment from Water Heater

• 1). Turn off power and the water flow to the heater.
  
  
• 2). Attach a garden hose to the water heater drain valve.
  
  
• 3). Open the temperature and pressure relief valve and empty as much water as possible.
  
  
• 4). Turn the water supply back on and let it run for a few minutes, flushing the drain valve.
  
  
• 5). Close the drain valve and the water heater will fill. Turn on the power supply.
