Types of Photocopying & Video Equipment

    Black-and-White Photocopiers

    • Black-and-white photocopiers are the standard concept of the traditional photocopy machines, and the most cost-effective form of photocopiers in businesses and schools. This type of photocopier is still available, but it has evolved into multifunctional photocopiers.

    Multifunction Photocopiers

    • Multifunction photocopiers provide more than one function in a photocopy machine. These machines are highly advanced and some are quite costly. Most multifunctional copiers include the ability to make copies in color, and the abilites to scan, fax, and even email documents.

    Desktop Publishing

    • Desktop publishing uses another type of multifunction photocopier. These copiers include an automatic document feeder for batch jobs, they can do double-sided printing, and they have the ability to three-hole punch and staple sets of documents.

    Camcorder

    • A camcorder is an electronic device that records moving images similar to the way a digital camera records still images. Older analog camcorders recorded images to film. In digital camcorders, the images are recorded using imaging sensors that converts light into electrical signals, which are converted into video data and stored in a variety of formats, including memory cards. Digital videos are easy to edit, email, add music to, and to upload to sites such as a blog, YouTube or website.

    Video Recorders

    • A digital video recorder, or DVR, is a consumer electronic device that records video to a hard drive. Some DVRs include a DVD player to enable the ability of recording to a removable resource such as a DVD, a USB flash drive or a memory card. DVRs can record and play at the same time, allowing the user to pause and then rewind a show being watched, or to fast-forward it. This allows the user to skip commercials. A dual-tuner model can record one show while the user is watching another show.

    Subscription Digital Systems

    • Subscription digital systems that record TV programs at the user's selection are some of the most advanced DVRs. In one box, they combine the Web and the shows you love. Most can access Netflix Instant, Amazon On Demand, and Blockbuster on Demand, along with allowing you to surf videos from sites such as YouTube and to have access to over-the-air signals along with streaming music.
