How to Refinish a Science Lab Table

    • 1). Wash the science lab table with a water-based degreasing cleanser, using a coarse sponge. Rinse the lab table with wet rags and dry it with towels.

    • 2). Abrade the science lab table to promote adhesion. Sand the lab table until it feels slightly rough.

    • 3). Protect portions of the lab table you do not want painted by covering them with painter's tape. Protect the floor with drop cloths.

    • 4). Coat the abraded science lab table with acrylic latex primer, using a roller, equipped with a shed-free sponge cover. Wait three hours for the lab table to dry.

    • 5). Wash your roller with water.

    • 6). Mix the chemical-resistant epoxy paint resin with the catalyst in a 5-gallon plastic bucket. Stir the components for five full minutes, using a wooden stir stick.

    • 7). Coat the primed science lab table with the chemical-resistant epoxy paint, using the clean roller. Wait six hours before setting anything on the table.
