- 1). Move the speakers away from each other. Speakers with the same audio frequency being emitted will begin to sound like high-pitched squealing. This will cause the speakers to blow and start crackling. When this occurs, there is nothing more you can do unless you just want to put up with the crackling speakers.
- 2). Turn the volume on the speakers down. Even though speakers have a maximum volume, different musical tracks and television programs are formatted to have varying volumes. This means that one show might be a little louder than another show. To prevent the speakers from blowing, never go to the maximum capacity of the speakers as this will only end in them being blown.
- 3). Turn down the bass on the speakers. If your sound system allows you to alter the amount of bass that is being emitted through the speakers, use this to turn the base down to about 50 percent. Doing this will increase the longevity of your speakers because they will be under much less strain.
