How to Reload iPod Software
- 1). Connect your computer to the Internet and confirm that you are running the latest version of iTunes. You can update iTunes by launching the program and then clicking the "iTunes" or "Help" tab at the top of the page, followed by "Check for Updates."
- 2). Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB cable that came with your player. This is the same USB cable that you typically use to sync your iPod with your computer.
- 3). Select your iPod from the "Devices" tab on the left iTunes menu. This action will launch a larger menu specifically for your iPod in the main screen of iTunes.
- 4). Click the "Restore" button in the middle of the screen. Then iTunes will ask you to select whether you would like to restore your iPod with its current version of the software or download and install new updated software (if available). Select which option you would like.
- 5). Enter your administrator user name and password when prompted to begin the reloading process. A progress indicator will appear on the screen and then disappear when your iPod has been restored fully.
