How to Rope Bamboo Together
- 1). Place one piece of bamboo so it is vertically straight. Position another piece of bamboo so it is horizontal and crosses the first piece at a right angle.
- 2). Cut a 3-foot length of small-diameter rope with a sharp knife.
- 3). Pull one end of the rope across the vertical bamboo below the point where the bamboo pieces cross. Pull the end of the rope under and over in back of the horizontal bamboo to the right of the vertical bamboo.
- 4). Pull the end of the rope across the point where the two bamboo pieces cross and under the horizontal piece to the left of the vertical piece.
- 5). Feed the rope up under and over the horizontal bamboo to the left of the vertical bamboo length. Pull the rope across and over to the starting point of the rope.
- 6). Hold the rope extending from the left in your left hand and refer to this end as A. Hold the rope extending from the right in your right hand and refer to it as B. At this point, A will be over B.
- 7). Tie a square knot by wrapping B up and around A. Pull the crossed rope tight against the bamboo. Pass B down and around A and pull tight to complete the knot. Trim excess rope from the knot with a sharp knife.
