- 1). Press the "Home" key to return to the iPad home screen.
- 2). Press the "Settings" app icon, which appears as a gray icon.
- 3). Select "General" under the "Settings" menu.
- 4). Select "About" from the "General" menu.
- 5). Locate the Serial Number, which will be the tenth item down the list.
- 1). Connect the iPad to the computer via the iPad-to-USB cable.
- 2). Open iTunes if it does not open automatically.
- 3). Select "iPad" from the menu on the left side.
- 4). Click the "Summary" tab toward the top of the iTunes screen. The serial number will display as the fourth item down, to the right of an iPad picture.
- 1). Open iTunes on the computer.
- 2). Open the "Preferences" menu and select the "Devices" tab.
- 3). Move and hold the mouse over the iPad in the "Device Backups" list. The serial number will pop up in a yellow text box.
