How to Make a Twist Hair Bow
- 1). Cut a piece of 1 1/2 inch wide ribbon 26 inches long. This will make a bow that is four to five inches across.
- 2). Trim the ends of the ribbon in a slant, making sure they both slant the same way.
- 3). Seal the ribbon ends by melting them. Place them near a candle for a few seconds to melt the very edges.
- 4). Hold the ribbon with the wrong side facing you.
- 5). Put the center of the ribbon in your right hand, and the two tails in the left hand.
- 6). Cross the two ends slightly, forming a tall X shape with about two inches of tail. Place your alligator clip where the two pieces cross.
- 7). Place the clip in the right hand and the loop in your left. Take the middle of one loop leg and place it on the clip.
- 8). Take the middle of the other loop leg and put it in between the clip and the piece that you just did. Make sure it is tucked in so that it doesn't show.
- 9). Bring one of the tails up to the clip and place it between the clip and the piece that you just brought up. Adjust the tails so that they are parallel.
- 10
Take off the clip, while holding the bow in place. - 11
Fold the middle of the bow, along your thin tall X, into an accordion shape. - 12
Bend the wire over the folded center of the bow and twist it in the back about five times. - 13
Cut the ends of the wire, leaving 1/4 inch. Bend those ends to the back. - 14
Attach the bow to a butterfly clip using the ends of the wire or a hot glue gun. You can also attach it to a barrette or headband with hot glue.
