Is Your Keyboard and Mouse Not Being Detected?

If your motherboard is not recognising your mouse or keyboard strokes, then there can be a number of reasons why this is occurring such as: The keyboard, serial port, game port, mouse and other similar components are managed by the controller chips 83977EF-AW and IT8702F-A.
These parts on your motherboard are directly controlled by the motherboards Northbridge chip.
If you find that your motherboard is no longer recognising your mouse or the keyboard then you should consider examining your motherboards 5V rail that is supplying power to both the mouse and keyboard, for any kind of problems.
If you find that there's some kind of fault, then it could possibly be due to a resistor on the motherboard that is not fused correctly.
If you find that it's a fault with your resistor, then you might want to consider connecting a thin wire directly to the line.
If you find that there's no problem with the power supplied to these components, then you can rule out there being a problem with your keyboard or mouse.
In this case, the problem is usually a result of repeatedly hot plugging your mouse or keyboard, which eventually results in your chipset getting damaged.
The only fix is to replace your systems motherboard.
Another reason why you might have a problem with your keyboard and mouse is because of a loose port.
Sometimes you can fix this issue by gently shaking your keyboard or mouses port connector.
Your ports can become loose by frequent plugging and unplugging, slowly deteriorating the integrity of the port.
