Living With Fear - What Are Panic Attacks and How to Ensure You Never Have Another Attack

There is a big difference between a panic attack and the normal emotion you might feel in a stressful situation.
Panic Attacks or Anxiety Attacks can occur any time of the day or night without warning.
Some of the symptoms may include a pounding heart or chest pain, feeling a sensation of choking, sweating or even worse an overwhelming feeling that you're about to die.
These attacks can last from 10 min up to half an hour.
Currently the cause of these panic attacks is not clear although there have been a number of studies that have shown that panic attacks can be triggered because of a number of different factors.
These include having a history of sufferers in the family, drug abuse and even extreme stress.
When it comes to panic attacks there are many remedies available on the market.
There are literally thousands of books and CDs and videos showing techniques on how to cope with panic attacks.
The first challenge is to pick one that works for you.
Some of these remedies include breathing techniques, visualisation and medication.
If you choose to follow a breathing technique, for example, where you control your breathing during an attack or when you feel you are about to have one.
This may work for the first few times you try but it may not work continuously.
Then you move onto the next technique and then the next and so on.
One issue that is common with all of these remedies is that they do not cure your problem.
Without curing your problem you end up living a life where you are afraid to go for a drive in your car or go to a social event, even a business meeting because you have a fear you will have an attack.
Many sufferers are under the misconception that there is no permanent solution.
You have probably visited sites that recommend that you don't think about the past or the future and to concentrate on the present which I feel is easier said than done or just to accept that you are having an attack and it will pass.
These sites have some great advise on dealing with high anxiety but they do not show you how to remove these attacks from your life completely, isn't that what you really want.
After deciding that you want to stop your attacks altogether the next step is to find a solution from somebody who has been through what you are going through, someone that understands what it's like and see how they have transformed their life.
