Do Money Plants Grow Better Under a Fluorescent Light or an Incandescent Light?

- Like all foliage plants, the money tree will grow well under the blue lightwaves of a fluorescent light, if the light is bright enough to support photosynthesis. If the bulb is not strong, it can be moved to within a few inches of the tree to increase the intensity.
- The money tree is capable of producing flowers, but must have both red and blue lightwaves to do so. The addition of an incandescent bulb may provide enough red and infrared light to support flowering, but usually incandescent bulbs are not bright enough to provide adequate light.
- A fluorescent grow light is the best choice for an indoor money tree. This type of light is made specifically to promote plant growth and flowering. It provides a full spectrum of lightwaves, resulting in both vigorous growth and flowering.
