How to Build a Lightsaber with Basic Hardware & Props
- 1). Apply a thin coat of black spray paint to the end cap. Allow it to dry, then apply a second coat. Two thin coats will prevent dripping better than a single thick coat.
- 2). Screw the end cap onto the chrome pipe. This will be the bottom of the lightsaber.
- 3). Wrap 4 to 5 inches of weatherstripping around the tube to form a grip. Position it just above the end cap so a bit of chrome is visible between the cap and the grip.
- 4). Place a few O-rings toward the top of the lightsaber with an equal amount of distance between them.
- 5). Attach the chrome screw ring to the top end of the lightsaber.
- 6). Paint the wooden dowel green, blue or red and insert it into the top of the lightsaber to act as a blade. Secure it in place with epoxy.
- 7). Add bolts, washers, buttons or switches to the tube and secure them with epoxy. Most of these decorative parts will require you to drill holes into the tube in order to make them fit properly.
