- 1). Connect your iPod to the computer it was last synced to using the USB cable included with the iPod.
- 2). Launch iTunes if it does not launch automatically.
- 3). Select the icon for your iPod from the left side of the screen. A summary page will appear.
- 4). Click the "Restore" button on the summary page to restore your iPod to its original factory settings.
- 5). Press the "Sync" button after the restore is complete to transfer your music, photos and other data back onto your iPod.
- 6). Disconnect your iPod from your computer and select a better passcode that you won't forget.
