Can a Residential Queen Be Used in an RV?
- RVs made around 2010 come equipped with many residential features. High end RVs have Sleep Number beds for maximum comfort. The use of slide-out rooms allow for larger beds and sleeping areas.
- Older RVs may be able to handle residential queen size mattresses if the mattress is made from foam. A pillow top mattress or extra thick queen size mattress will not fit into the allotted bed space in older RVs. This is especially true if the RV lacks slide-out rooms.
- Before making a final decision on whether or not a residential queen mattress is suitable for RV use, measure the mattress and the RV bed. Take the length, width and height measurements of the mattress. Measure the RV bed frame and the surrounding area to see whether the mattress will fit. If the mattress will fit without shifting around, then it is suitable for RV use.
