The town of Canisteo, New York, is located in Steuben County in the western half of the Empire State. Dating back to the late 1700s, it is considered one of the founding communities of Steuben County. This historical heritage, combined with the landscapes of western New York's Finger Lakes region, make the area an ideal vacation spot for RVers. - Just over 10 miles north of Canisteo, in Dansville, is the Sugar Creek Glen Campground. Billed as "One of the Most Beautiful Campgrounds in New York," it features amenities such as a convenience store, playgrounds, hiking trails and a dump station. In addition to the 105 electric sites, the facility also offers tent sites and cabin rentals. Children under the age of 12 are stay free, and there is a 48 hour cancellation policy. The RV campground is conveniently located near a few state parks, including Stony Brook State Park and Letchworth State Park.

Cabin accommodations are also available. Amenities at the campground include a convenience store, a 14 acre fishing pond and a community hall for activities. Recreational facilities such as a basketball court, swimming pool and arcade are also available. All campsites include a picnic area and fire pit; and full-service sites with 50-amp service are available. Local attractions include the Clemens Center Performing Arts Center, Corning Glass Center and the Windmill Farm and Craft Market.
