How to Make a Wall Picture Frame
- 1). Measure and cut craft foam to the desired dimensions of the wall picture frame. You can miter the corners by cutting the edges at a 45 degree angle, or you can the edges flush at the corners. Repeat this step to make three sections of craft foam for each of the four sides of the picture frame. Alternatively, you can cut out the center of three single sheets of craft foam. Each center cutout should have the same dimensions.
- 2). Position four sections of craft foam to make one picture frame. Spray adhesive to the front of each section. Press another same size section of craft foam on top of each section. Repeat this step to glue and stack the foam three sections high. This will add depth to your wall frame.
- 3). Cut a strip of copper foil to cover the face, inside edge and outside edges of each stack, plus 1/2 inch around the back of the foam section. Dry fit the copper to the foil. Make sure to wear gloves as you shape the copper to the foam. Remove the copper.
- 4). Spread viscous craft glue over the face and edges of one stacked foam section. Cover the foam with the copper foil. Repeat for all four sections of the picture frame. Allow the adhesive to dry.
- 5). Decorate the face of the copper foil with inspirational words or a favorite phrase using a stylus. The foam background will allow the copper to bend when you apply pressure with the stylus. A crochet needle or a dry ball point pen works as a stylus if necessary. You can also use a rubber stamp to create an image in the copper.
- 6). Flip the frame sections over. Join one section to another with a strip of duct tape along the back at the corner.
- 7). Hang the copper wall picture frame using self-adhesive interlocking strips.
