Building on the foundation of their popular Quick6 HDMI Switcher (read my review and product photos), DVDO has announced an updated version that may be just right for you, the Quick6R.

Similar to the Quick6, the DVDO Quick6R provides six high-speed 3D, 1080p compatible HDMI inputs, as well as two HDMI outputs.

4K Ultra HD compatible, and the remaining two are both 1080p and MHL-compatible. Both MHL inputs allow the connection of compatible portable devices (such as smartphones and tablets - However, one of the MHL inputs will also accept the MHL version of the Roku Streaming stick.

The Roku Streaming Stick requires an additional purchase, but working with the Quick6R (which also includes an updated remote for controlling both the switcher the Roku Streaming Stick), you can access up to 1500 internet streaming content channels (of course Netlfix, Vudu, Amazon Instant Video, Crackle, Spotify, Pandora, and iHeartRadio, included, but are just the tip of the iceberg - see full list).

In other words, you don't need to have a SmartTV or connect an external media streamer to the Quick6R to watch internet-based content - just plug in the USB-flash drive-sized Roku Streaming stick directly into the Roku-ready labeled HDMI port on the Quick6R and you are set to go.

Now, getting back to the other features and connectivity provided on the Quick6R, the two HDMI outputs transfer video to two different TVs (both TVs will receive the same image), or, if you have a 3D or 4K TV and non-3D or 4K-enabled home theater receiver, you can connect one HDMI output to the TV for video, and the second HDMI output to your home theater receiver for audio.

Also, both a digital optical and coax audio output are provided for use with non-HDMI equipped home theater receivers.

In addition, the Quick6R incorporates other practical conveniences, including Automatic Input Detection and Audio Return Channel capability, as well as connectivity, InstaPrevue, and InstaPort technologies, as well as Picture-in-Picture support (also allows audio swapping between PIP images).

The Quick6 4K Ultra HD can also be incorporated into existing installations using custom control via its built-in RS232 port.

The DVDO Quick6R also provides an RS232 Serial port custom control integration, if needed. A USB port is in included for the installation of any needed firmware updates.

However, you will have to use the separate remote provided with the Roku Streaming Stick, or contact DVDO for the same upgraded combined remote provided with Quick6R.
