• Office supply stores like Staples and Office Depot offer ink cartridge refill services for a variety of printer brands, including Lexmark. These stores have ink refill kiosks where a store associate will take your empty printer ink cartridge, and refill it with black ink for a black ink cartridge, or multi-color for a color ink cartridge. Walgreens

• Walgreens is a drug store that also offers photo developing and ink cartridge refills. Simply take your empty Lexmark cartridge to your local Walgreens, and drop it off at the photo counter. One of their clerks will fill up the black or color ink cartridge, and you will be charged about $13 for the refill as of 2009. This runs about half the cost of a new ink cartridge. Ink Refill Kits

• Ink refill kits allow you to refill your ink cartridge right at home. Purchase a refill kit from your local office supply store or superstore, and make sure the refill kit is compatible with Lexmark printers. Typically, all refill kits come in two styles, one HP compatible, and the other Dell and Lexmark compatible. Purchase the kit, and follow the refill instructions on the box. Each refill kit will give you 4-5 ink cartridge refills, saving you a bundle of money.
