- 1). Open a browser and go to the Speed Fan Web site.
- 2). Click the "Download" tab at the top of the page.
- 3). Scroll down to the "Download" section. Click on the "SpeedFan 4.40" link as of the Winter of 2010.
- 4). Download and install the software. Place the software on your C Drive and make sure that you allow an icon on your desktop.
- 5). Double-click the icon on your desktop.
- 6). Hit the "Readings" tab when the software opens and finishes reading your system.
- 7). Click on the up and down arrows to the right of the numbers about two-thirds down on the box. These control the fan speed. Remember the lower the number, the less the fan works and the hotter your system will get. The changes should take place as soon as you alter the number.
