How to Use Oaxaca Cheese
- 1). Slice Oaxacan cheese to place on pizza in place of Mozzarella. It has similar characteristics and will melt well on pizza. Use in the same way in calzones. Use traditional ingredients that you would put on pizza or try making a Mexican pizza with taco meat. Add shredded lettuce and sour cream once the pizza is cooked.
- 2). Place in quesadillas with ingredients such as shrimp, beef, chicken, sauteed onion and green peppers. Simply butter a pan and place a flour tortilla in it. Place ingredients on top and cover with another tortilla. Cook on medium heat for approximately five minutes before turning over to let the other side cook. Remove from pan, slice into quarters and serve with guacamole, sour cream or salsa.
- 3). Shred Oaxacan cheese and place on top of tacos, burritos or tostadas to add a genuine Mexican flavor to your dishes.
- 4). Make queso fundido, which is a mixture of Oaxacan cheese, cooked chorizo sausage and jalapeno peppers. Place ingredients together in an ovenproof pan and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until bubbly and golden brown on top. Serve with tortilla chips.
- 5). Slice Oaxaca cheese and serve with crackers as an appetizer.
