How to Mount Digital Prints
- 1). Print your digital photo. To make your print last and not fade you must use a good quality photo paper. Avoid using glossy paper as the ink will fade quickly, instead look for artist paper that will hold the ink, such as Mitsubishi Artist and Konica IQ which can look good for around four years. Alternatively you can choose to have them printed by a professional printing service.
- 2). Allow the ink to settle if you are printing the photos yourself. Handling the print to quickly can damage your image.
- 3). Spray the back of the print with a fine film of a durable adhesive spray such as 3M Super 77 photo mounting spray adhesive, following the instructions on the can.
- 4). Press the print firmly against the mounting board, working out any trapped air from underneath the print. Work from corner to corner gently applying pressure until the print is secure.
- 5). Choose your frame. An important part of displaying your digital prints is mounting them in a frame that will flatter your image. Experiment with different styles of frame until you find one that you like.
