Anthem Adds 3D Upgrade for Statement D2v and AVM 50v Preamp/Processors
Dateline: 07/07/2012
Popular high-end audio component maker, Anthem, has just announced a 3D upgrade for two of its most popular preamp/processors, the Statement D2v and AVM 50v. Both units will now be shipped with the ability to pass-through 3D source signals, such as Blu-ray. To support the 3D feature addition, the Statement D2v and AVM 50v both incorporate a total of 8 HDMI inputs, 2 HDMI outputs, and an Auto-refresh rate detection function.
Also, both units come equipped with Anthem's ARC (Anthem Room Correction) for precise speaker setup.
However, it must be pointed out that the 3D pass-through and switching functions are only accessible via HDMI inputs 1 through 4, and HDMI output 1. Another observation is that neither unit is receiving a 4K pass through or uspcaling upgrade - although not of immediate importance, this could become a factor as more 4K video projectors, displays, and source components become a part of high-end home theater setups.
The new units are currently available for pre-order, and will start shipping in August. The Statement D2v 3D is priced at $9,499, while the AVM 50v 3D is priced at $6,499. For more details, refer to the official Statement D2v and AVM 50v product pages. These units are preamp/processors only, you need to add external amplification to provide power to loudspeakers and a subwoofer.
Also, for current owners of the these units, HDMI upgrade boards and related components will also be made available through approved Anthem dealers/installers.
